Meet Cindy Teeto of 1 Breath at a Time

How 1 Breath Started

Cindy Teeto, founder of 1 Breath At A Time, spent her career in early childhood education. Her formal training and passion lie in working with kids from ages 18 months old to seven years. As a kindergarten teacher in the Broward County Public School, the sixth-largest district in the United States, and later a teacher at the prestigious, private Mailman Segal Center at Nova Southeastern University, Cindy began to incorporate the teaching of age-appropriate meditation, breathwork, yoga and mindfulness to her classes. She soon learned that not only did the kids truly need these types of activities, but they loved them.

Not only were the fun, but they brought noticeable benefits. The young children began to master age-appropriate coping skills like longer attention span, more positive social interactions and increased impulse control.

She knew she was on to something amazing.

Our
Vision

The company was inspired by the peace Cindy found in her own meditation practice. After incorporating age-appropriate techniques in her classes, she realized that kids welcomed the opportunity to find their center and calm themselves through breathing and meditation.

1 Breath At A Time was founded as a result, with the hopes that this magic could be experienced by wider audience.

“Teaching kids to make the mind/body/soul connection is the way to help them remain calm and happy, no matter challenges they face – large or small.”

–Cindy Teeto, founder 1 Breath At A Time.

To know Miss Cindy is to love her. The attentiveness and encouragement she displays towards each one of her students is remarkable. Her mindfulness practice is fun and extremely kid-friendly. The kids were enthralled with her breathing bottle. It relaxed them and created a deep awareness of emotions. Miss Cindy is an expert in teaching children how to access the power of their breath, and the techniques with which to self soothe. She uses creative strategies in her meditation sessions, such as animal sounds and breaths
